Membership Levels
Principal Member
A principal member is an individual with equity interest in a consulting
practice who operates full time in that practice, providing services to
organizations in return for compensation in the form of fees, equity or
other exchange of value. Primary earned income must be derived from fees
for service. Persons whose primary income is derived from the sale of
product are not considered by the Association to be consultants.
Qualifications:
1.A strong
working competency in a specialty, as evidenced by all the following criteria:
a. A related bachelor's degree or five years in depth experience in
the specialty
b. A minimum of three years independent practice within the specialty
c. Additional specific qualifications, experience or academic requirements
typically expected of the specialty by the client community (e.g.
MA or Ph.D., professional certification, licensing, etc)
2. Operation headquartered in Central New York
3. Sponsorship by at least one Principal Member in good standing
Entitlements:
1 Use of Association logo on stationary, business cards, website, etc.
2 Participation in Association business development events.
3 Inclusion in Association Directory and links for Association website
4 Participation in collegial professional growth events
5 Availability of all Association discounts and other member benefits
Participation Requirements:
1 Service actively on at least on Association committee
2 Attend Association meetings regularly
3 Participate in outside professional development activities to maintain
expertise in the consulting specialty
4 Share nonproprietary professional knowledge freely with other Association
members
5 Remain current in payment of Association dues
Affiliate Member
An Affiliate Member in as individual who a) practices a consulting specialty
as an in-house practitioner or b) has a part time consulting practice
as a side business or c) is a new entrant into the consulting field or
d) is a student or e)is a consultant employed by a firm providing consulting
services.
Affiliate membership
is limited to no more than 30% of total association membership with category
(e) members limited to no more than 10%.
Qualifications:
1 Fundamental understanding of the specialty, based upon work experience
and/or academic requirements typically expected for the specialty
2 Sponsorship by at least one Principal Member in good standing
Entitlements:
1 Mentoring by Principal Members
2 Participation in collegial professional growth events
3 inclusion in Association directory and links for website
4 Availability of most Association discounts and other member benefits.
Participation requirements:
1 Serve actively on at least on Association committee
2 Attend association meetings regularly
3 Participate in professional development activities to maintain up-to-date
expertise in consulting specialty
4 Share nonproprietary knowledge with other Association members
5 Remain current in payment of Association dues.
